UNPOG’s Head, Amb. Attended by members of the committee from UNPOG, DPADM, and Ministry of Interior (MOI), Republic of Korea, the Meeting reviewed 2015 major activities of UNPOG and discussed on how to implement its future projects more efficiently.

The consultative meeting on the Second Phase of UNPOG followed as the term of UNPOG is coming to an end in June 2016. The participants shared opinions on the scope and mandates of UNPOG Phase II as well as the main elements of the Project Document for UNPOG Phase II, budget, personnel and administrative matters.

The Head of Office also participated in the Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on “Moving from commitments to results in building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels” held from 17 to 18 February 2016. The EGM was a venue to share insights on three interrelated priorities for making progress towards goal 16, including gaps between principles and reality in building institutions at the local level, public sector corruption and the SDGs, and reviewing open government performance; to increase understanding of evidence-based assessment of three priority issues in different national and local contexts, in connection with implementation of SDGs; and to build network with experts from international and regional organisations and academia in the field of public administration and governance.
