UNPOG attended the Expert Dialogue on Effective Follow-up and Review for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific from 1 to 2 December 2016, which was organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in the context of the ESCAP SDG Week. The purpose of the Expert Dialogue is to share experiences and perspectives and to develop guidance on good practice for follow-up and review at the national level as well as regional follow-up and review that can effectively support national and global processes.

The Expert Dialogue provided a good opportunity to identify and build network with representatives of governments, civil society, academia and other stakeholders in Asia and the Pacific, and to learn about their diverse views and experiences, which will help further develop UNPOG's programme activities.

Taking the opportunity, Mr. Lim had a meeting with Mr. Stefanos Fotiou, Director of Environment and Development Division and Ms. Katinka Weinberger, Chief of Environment and Development Policy Section, Environment and Development Division of ESCAP to explore possible areas of cooperation. Mr. Lim also had a meeting with Ms. Cai Cai, Chief of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Section, Social Development Division of ESCAP to share the progress of the development of training modules on e-government for women empowerment.
