Background
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), and in collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator's Office, is organising a National Workshop on Effective Governance for Sustainable Development in Mongolia on 07-13 June 2023.
The Workshop is organised in response to the expressed need for capacity development requests received from National Academy of Governance (NAOG) of the Government of Mongolia, and MONTSAME - Mongolian National News Agency and will be based on UN DESA’s Curriculum on Governance for the Sustainable Development Goals. It will be attended by seniors to mid-level public officials drawn from the Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Units engaged in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and MongoliaVision-2050, UN representatives, and other invited international and local experts and officials joining as resource speakers.
Objective
The Workshop aims to promote a critical understanding of sustainable development issues, enhance governance capacity, and strengthen public servants’ awareness of their active role in achieving the SDGs and Mongolia Vision-2050.
