DPIDG/UNPOG Empowers Pakistan's Administrative Service Officers through Under Training Programme (25 January 2024, Virtual)

In collaboration with UN RCO in Pakistan, UNPOG/DPIDG supported Under-Training (UT) Programme, a mandatory component of the training of officers of the Administrative Service (PAS) by delivering a presentation on “Preparing Public Institutions for Strategic Planning and Foresight for SDG Implementation” during the webinar on District Strategic Foresight Visioning on 25 January 2024. The UT Programme immerses officers in district-level governance, culminating in a weeklong attachment with United Nations Agencies, Funds, and Programmes (UN AFPs).
The initiative led by the UN RCO in Pakistan, aims to enhance officers' skills in district-level foresight and visioning, effectively addressing strategic planning gaps at the district/local level. Subsequently, officers dedicate four months to contribute to district administrations on the strategic planning and visioning for their respective districts, receiving mentorship and recognition from the UN for their contribution to the SDG initiatives.
The webinar was attended by 52 officials from districts of Punjab, Sindh, KP, Baloshistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Civil Services Academy, PAS Campus, Lahore, and UN Provincial Programme Team Chairs and Coordinators.
