Japan Digital Agency Briefed on the Pact for the Future and the Global Digital Compact (18 April 2025, Virtual)

Following the side event at GovInsider’s Innovation Festival in Singapore, DPIDG/UNPOG met with representatives from the Japan Digital Agency at their request. The meeting aimed to deepen understanding of the Pact for the Future and its Global Digital Compact, and to explore how Japan Digital can engage with the current digital governance landscape, particularly from a UN perspective. The discussion primarily focused on leveraging science, technology and innovation and digital cooperation to accelerate progress on the 2030 Agenda. The Japan Digital also expressed interest in identifying ways to follow up and align its efforts accordingly. As a follow-up, DPIDG/UNPOG will facilitate communication with the UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies.
