UNPOG’s 2026 Edition of the Blended eLearning Courses to Drive Innovation, Inclusion and SDG Action March 09, 2026

March 2026  The United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), has officially launched the 2026 edition of its Blended eLearning Courses on Government Innovation for Social Inclusion of People in Vulnerable Situations and Effective National-to-Local Public Governance for SDG Implementation.

The 2026 courses have drawn an impressive 1,225 registrations, marking a 53 per cent increase in participation compared to the inaugural edition. The surge reflects growing global demand for capacity-building initiatives that support inclusive governance and effective public administration in advancing the United Nations’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Supported by the Capacity Development Programme Management Office (CDPMO), the courses are delivered through the DESA Digital Learning Centre and the UN Campus platform, providing accessible and flexible learning opportunities for public officials and practitioners worldwide.

Building on lessons from previous iterations of the eLearning Courses, the updated curricula integrate the latest policy insights and practical experiences to strengthen institutional capacities and enhance public sector leadership. The courses aim to equip participants with the tools needed to implement transformative governance reforms aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 2026 edition of the Government Innovation for Social Inclusion of People in Vulnerable Situations course places renewed emphasis on inclusive policymaking, innovative public service delivery, and participatory governance models. It underscores the importance of empowering marginalized communities and ensuring their meaningful engagement in decision-making processes.

Meanwhile, the course on Effective National-to-Local Public Governance for SDG Implementation focuses on improving coordination and policy coherence across different levels of government. By fostering stronger vertical integration, the programme seeks to enhance the effectiveness of national strategies and local actions in delivering sustainable development outcomes.

Through these initiatives, UNPOG and UN DESA reaffirm their commitment to advancing inclusive, accountable, and responsive public institutions capable of accelerating progress toward the SDGs.
